India's first integrated heliport inaugurated at Rohini in National Capital.
'India's frst integrated heliport inaugurated at
Rohini, north-west of New Delhi by State owned chopper operator Pawan Hans.
'The Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju
has inaugurated the country's first Heliport in Rohini.
The Heliport consists of a terminal building with a
capacity of 150 passengers, 4 hangars with the parking capacity of 16
Helicopters and 9 parking bays built with cost of Rs 100 crore.
Commencement of services expecting to reduce the
congestion at the Indira Gandhi International Delhi Airport which
currently handles 40-50 helicopters arrivals and departure on an average day.
The Heliport also promote Regional Air connectivity
through helicopter for northern part of country , helps in disaster management,
helicopter emergency medical services in addition to law and order surveillance
also centre for the skill development of pilots and engineers.

First Antyodaya Express flagged off
Indian Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has flagged
off the first Antyodaya Express from Ernakulam-Howrah targeting the common man.
Generally, one needs to reserve tickets for long
routes at least four months prior to the journey, but with Antyodaya there will not be any issue as it will be a fully
unreserved train
Antyodaya Express is a super fast comfortable train
for unreserved passengers, will have facilities like Cushioned luggage
racks which can serve as seats Additional hand holds in doorway area,
J-Hook near longitudinal luggage racks, , Potable Drinking water dispenser,
Mobile charging points, Fire Extinguisher with anti-theft lock, FRP (Fibre
Reinforced Plastic) Modular Toilets, Pleasing interior colour scheme, Toilet
Occupation indication display board, LED Lights, SS Slip-free flooring at
Doorway & Gangway, Anti-Graffiti coating for exterior painting.

ICAR Scientist says, Pests eat away India’s 35% of total crop yield
P.K Chakrabarty , Assistant director General (Plant Protection an Biosafety) of ICAR (Indian council of Agricultural Research) has said that about 30-35% of crops yield in India annually gets wasted because of Pests.
P.K Chakrabarty also said among such pests, Nematodes are the major threat to crops in the country and they caused 60 million tonnes of crops loss annually. He also said that such loss will have an adverse effect on agricultural biosafety which was paramount to Food Security.
About Nematodes.
Nematodes are the most numerous multicellular animals on earth, a small amount of soil will contain thousands of microscopic worms. Most of them are parasites of insects, plants or animals.
They found in almost every habitat, includes terrestrial, freshwater, saltwater ecosystems, also within other organisms as parasites. It can be herbivorous, carnivorous, and parasitic.
Nematodes Management
The Plant-parasitic nematodes are a concern for growers of agricultural. These plant-parasitic nematodes will mainly feed on the roots of plants which caused the damage on plants and there will be a huge loss to the farmers.
- Once he Nematode established in land, it cannot be eradicated. Nematodes are mainly spread through lack of sanitation and movement of infected soil and planting material.
- To limit a build-up of nematodes, planting equipment and tools should be properly cleaned and also could only be used for the same field.
- After the harvest infected plants should be destroyed completely to avoid further build-up of nematodes..
- Crops rotation and Nematodes resistant plants can also resist the nematodes from build-up.

India, Germany ratify 2011 social security agreement.
India and Germany have ratified the social Security Agreement, which will come into force from 1st May 2017, help to improve more investment flows between both the countries.
The Pact was signed on 12th October 2011 of which the instruments of ratification were exchanged on Friday.
As per official statement of Ministry of External Affairs ,”the agreement establishes the rights and obligations of nationals of both countries and provides for their equal treatment and unrestricted payment of pensions even in case of residence in the other contracting state”
The Agreement is expected to reduce the operational costs of both countries operation in either of the countries.

India,ADB signs $375m pact for Visakhapatnam-Chennai corridor
India and Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed $375 M
pact for loans and grants to develop Vishakapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor.
It is the first phase of planned 2500 km East Coast
Economic Corridor ADB(Asian Development Bank) has approved $631 M loans and
grants for the industrial corridor last September. It approved loans comprising a $500 million multi-tranche facility to build
key infrastructure in the four main centers along the corridor — Visakhapatnam,
Kakinada, Amaravati, and Yerpedu-Srikalahasti in Andhra Pradesh
The first tranche of $245 million that was signed
will finance sub projects to develop high-quality internal infrastructure in 2
of the 4 nodes of the corridor — Visakhapatnam and Yerpedu-Srikalahasti.
Another $125 m loan is used for capacity development
of institutions engaged in corridor management; provide support to enhance ease
of doing business and for supporting industrial and sector policies to
stimulate industrial development.

India, Bangladesh sign MoU for development of Sylhet city
India and Bangladesh has signed MoU(Memorandum of
understanding) for the Sustainable development of Sylhet city with Financial
Assistance from India.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh
Vardhan Shringla ,Shah Mhd Additional Secretary of the Economic Relations
Division Ministry of Finance and Enamul Habib CEO of Sylhet City corporation
has signed the MoU.
This is an follow-up for the earlier MoU which was
signed in April 2013 by India and Bangladesh for the sustainable development
projects in Socio-economic sectors of Bangladesh.
The MoU includes three development projects in
Sylhet City- construction of 5-storey kindergarten and high school building, 6
storey cleaner colony building and Development of Dhupa Dighipar area

WTO's. Trade Facilitation Agreement has come into force from February 24 2017.
'TFA will simplify trade process , bring down Trade
barriers and also enhance the capacity of the developing g nation to engage
better with the global trading network. It estimates that full implementation
could reduce trade cost by Avg 14.3% and boost global trade by $1
trillion/year.
'Trade Facilitation Agreement aim to easing the
flow of trade between nation by simplifying customs procedures, speeding up
clearance of goods, supporting cooperation among customs officials and making
it quicker and more efficient for goods to cross borders.
‘Chad, Oman, Rwanda and Jordon are the four
countries ratified the agreement on Wednesday and now it become
112 countries to approve the deal.
As per new
WTO rules, any new or revised trade agreement required 1/3rd approval from
member countries.
As per the
rules FTA has received 112 (1/3rd) member countries ratification out of 164
members of WTO
'Benefits for India.
'Once the full implementation of TFA which will
decrease the trade costs. TFA is likely to reduce the time needed to import and
also for export. TFA also increase the number of new products exported.
'Background
'Trade facilitation is a trade agreement which is
aim to lowering global trade barriers which commenced in Ninth ministerial
conference of the world trade organization in Bali, Indonesia on 3-7 December
2013.'It is a part of Doha development agenda of WTO
which commenced on November 2001

Union Cabinet clears air defense missile deal with Israel for Rs 17,000 cr
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a mega deal worth Rs 17,000 cr to develop jointly a Medium Range Surface-to- air missile (MR-SAM) system from Israel to protect India’s Airspace from enemy aircraft and Drones.
The Cabinet committee in Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given nod for the deal which is executed by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). This mega deal will signed during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel in June 2017.
About the Deal:
The Current deal is for procurement of 40 units of Medium Range Surface to Air Defense Missile (MR-SAM) system, known in Israel as the Barak 8. The system can shoot down enemy aircraft, drones, surveillance aircraft and AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) planes at the strike range between 50 to 70 km in the sky.
India and Israel also in talk for negotiation for the purchase of 2 long range Phalcon Airborne Warning and Control System. India currently has 3 Phalcon AWACS Israeli radar mounted on Russian IL-76 Transport Aircraft.

Cabinet gave its nod for Air Services Agreement between India and Greece.
The Union Cabinet has approved the Air Service Agreement between India and Greece,. The Union Cabinet was chaired by Prime minister Narendra Modi.
At present there is no Air service between India and Greece, the delegation of both the countries met in New Delhi on September 6 2016 and finalized the Air Service Agreement between both countries.
AS per the official statement, the agreement is expected to spur greater trade, investment and cultural ties. It also brings development in the civil aviation sector.
Features of ASA
As per the agreement both India and Greece can entitle to designate one or more airlines . The designated Airlines has the right to establish offices in the territory of other country for the promotion of air services.
As per the Agreement, the designated Airlines would have fair and equal opportunity to operate agreed services on specified routes.
According to agreement, India can operate Air services to Athens ,Thessaloniki, Herklion and any three points to be specified later in Greece from points in India.
Greece can operate air services to 6 metro cities include, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru

The Agreement between India and Poland will cover exchange of information on various aspects which include the information about the current situation of Agriculture, the phytosanitary conditions of crops, threats posed harmful organism, disease of crops and the health of crops.
The Agreement also covers the participation in exhibition, Fairs, seminar and conference related to Agriculture and agri-food processing.
The Agreement also undertake joint economic initiatives and Agri-food trade between countries.
As per the Agreement Joint working group will be constituted which comprise members of both countries. It will prepare plan for cooperation and also gives solution during the implementation of Agreement.

Shurhozelie Liezitsu sworn in as 17th Chief Minister of Nagaland
Shurhozelie Liezitsu sworn in as 17th Chief Minister of Nagaland. He was administered the Oath of office and secrecy by Nagaland Governor PB Acharya in Kohima, capital city Nagaland.
Shurhozelie Liezitsu is a president of Naga People's Front party. He was succeeded TR Zeliang, who resigned from Chief Minister of Nagaland due to state wide protest over reservation to women in local body election.
About Liezitsu :
Shurhozelie Liezitsu born in 20 November 1936 in Nagaland. He is one of the founding member of first regional party in Nagaland .
He is an eminent scholar and one of the most decorated educationists in the Angami Literature which is the native language of Angami Tribe. Angami language is the native language of Angami Tribe.

India, Rwanda signs 3 MoUs in Innovation, aviation and visa deals.
India and Rwanda has signed 3 MoUs in Innovation, Aviation sectors and visa requirements during the Vice President Hamid Ansari’s visit to the Rwanda, which will boost the bilateral relationship between the countries.
As per the MoU , both India and Rwanda have concluded a bilateral Air services agreeing for direct flight between Kigali and Mumbai in April.
The other MoUs are to set up an entrepreneurial development centre in Rwanda and mutually exempt from visa requirement for entry of diplomatic and official passport holder.
The MoUs were signed during India-Rwanda business forum organised by FICCI and Rwandan Government.
Rwandan Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi said that this will boost the bilateral relationship between the countries. He also said that , Rwandan Government wants to encourage tourism, also they want Bollywood films to be short in Rwanda, which will help to develop tourism sector in Rwanda.

Justice A.M Sapre - Cauvery Tribunal’s New head.
The Supreme Court has appointed Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre as new chairman of the Cauvery water Disputes Tribunal.
Chief Justice of India J S Khehar has nominated A M Sapre as new Chairman. The post fell vacant after the resignation of Justice B S Chauhan following his appointment as Law commission chairman, in March 2016
A.M Sapre served as Judge at the Madhya Pradesh High Court and Rajasthan High Courts. He also served as Chief Justice of Gauhati and Manipur High court before he was elevated as judge of Supreme Court.
About Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal:
Cauvery water Tribunal was set up in June 2 1990, after reading the dispute the tribunal announces in 2007 allocating 419 tmc water to Tamil Nadu and 270 tmc to Karnataka, 30tmc ft to Kerala and 7 tmc ft to Puducherry. However both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka filled a review petition before the tribunal to reallocate the water share.
In 2012, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the chairman of Cauvery River authority and directed Karnataka to release 9000 cusecs of water daily. Again Karnataka Government failed to comply with order.
Again in 2016 the Then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha filed an interlocutory petition in Supreme Court seeking release of water as per guidelines of Cauvery Tribunal and Supreme Court has now directed Karnataka Government to release 15,000 cusecs of water but Karnataka Government Failed to comply with order duet to widespread violent protest.
About Water Dispute Tribunal:
The Interstate River Water Disputes Act 1956 which is enacted in Government of India under Article 262 of Constitution of India made the central Government to settle the issue when there is inter-state water dispute arise.
However in December 2016, the Central Government cleared a proposal to set up single permanent Tribunal to settle interstate water dispute. This helps to speed up the water sharing dispute between states. At present there are 8 Tribunals including cauvery, Mahadayi, Ravi and Beas, Vansadhara, and Krishna River.

Corbett Tiger Reserve Gets nod to kill poachers.
The Corbett Tiger Reserve located in Uttarakhand, get not shoot at sight against poachers, but the order is only for self-protection against poachers carrying Arms.
According to the data ,112 tigers have died between November 2000 to November 2016, which includes 56 natural deaths, 19 deaths due to mutual fight, 17 deaths due to accident and 6 deaths due to poaching.

The Corbett Tiger Reserve is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, it is the oldest national park in India. It was established in 1936 to protect the endangered Bengal Tiger. It is known for its rich Flora and Fauna and especially its Bengal Tigers.
