Important Accounts Handled by VAO

‘A’ Register:

This is the Basic record which contains information on all lands about its survey number, Classification, Assessment, Name of the Pattadar , etc..

Adangal Register:

Adangal Register gives information about the number of crops cultivated and yield in particular land. VAO prepared and register as per Fasli Year.

Fasli Year from from July to June      

         

Azmoish:

Revenue Inspector will inspects all Poramboke, Fasli Jasthi and theervai Jasthi  lands twice to correct the entries if there is any error.

Theervai Jasthi:

It means that the Dry lands irrigated  with the help of Government sources then there will be some charge, this is called Theervai Jasthi.

Fasli Jasthi:

It means owner can get irrigated with the help of government source in a fasli year for a Single crop wet land, if he wants to irrigate second time in fasli year he will be charge is called Fasli Jasthi.

About Village administrative officer(VAO)

Village administrative officer (VAO) is also known as Village collector, VAO is like a collector in particular Village where he/she works. VAO is very prestigious as well as we can do Service to the public. People who are very much interested to do Public Service can choose their profession as Village administrative Officer, because VAO act as the middle man between the People and the Government. So VAO is the Job which is dream to get and do service to the people.

Early once or as per the requirement TNPSC (Tamil Nadu public service commission) conduct the Examination for the VAO. VAO helps the government schemes to reach the village people.

Here we are going to know selection process, syllabus, Guidance to prepare from home rather than wasting money in Coaching Centre, notes, books to read, allowance, education Qualification etc..

Salary and Allowances:

Village Administrative officer initial salary will be Rs.5200-20200 + Grade pay 2400/-(PB-1)(PM).

Age to apply

1.       For SC, ST, MBC, BC candidate minimum age is 21 to Maximum 40 years

2.       For Other category candidate Minimum age is 21 to Maximum 30 years

Education Qualification

Candidate must passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or equivalent with eligibility for admission to higher secondary courses of studies.

Basic Information on Land Revenue and Revenue Collection

The Important Activity of Revenue Department is Protecting of Government Interest in Lands and collection of Land Revenue. The Duties of Revenue officers is to collect revenue from Farmers (Ryots.)

Revenue Payable by Farmer(Ryot) for their Lands:

1.Basic Assessment - (மதிப்பீடு)

2.Addition -

• Fasli Jasthi 
• Theervai Jasthi
• Assessment on Unauthorized occupation of Gvt Lands
• Local Cess on 1,2(a),2(b) and (c)
• Penalty in Theervai Jasthi Cases
• Penalty on Unauthorized occupation

3.Deduction- 

• Waiver of Assessment on Dry/Manavari/Wet Lands
• Bailing Remission
• other Remission

4. Collection of Water Cess.

Classification of Lands

The Cultivable lands receiving water from Government Irrigation are classified as wet lands. The lands other than this are called Dry lands.

The land which in on the foreshore of Tanks or near High ridges to keep rain water are Manavari Lands. In Simple Manavari Lands are Rain fed lands which mostly depends on Rain for Irrigation.

Crops Growing Season:

In Tamil Nadu First Crop or Samba usually started during Rainy season from October and harvested in January /February. The Second crop starts from Jan/Feb and harvest in April/May.
