1.Nauru has become the 6th country to ratify the international solar alliance (ISA) framework pact.
The world smallest country Naura, has ratified the International Solar Alliance (ISA) which was launched by India along with France in 2015 at the UN Climate Change conference in Paris in November 2015.
Naura is the 6th nation to ratify the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Framework pact. The other countries which ratified are, Comoros, Cote d’Ivoire, Somalia, Ghana and Djibouti
2.May 22 - International Day for Biodiversity 2017 is being celebrated in Goa.
International Day for Biodiversity 2017 has been celebrated in GOA and the theme for which is ‘Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism”
3.Cobra lily also known as Arisaema translucens blooms again.
Cobra Lily also know as Arisaema translucens has been rediscovered after 84 years in western Nilgiris.. The discovery was published in Phytotaxa, a journal on botanical taxonomy.
It said that Cobra Lily is considered ‘critically endangered’, and there should be immediate measures to be taken for their long term survival.
4.Dr. Harsh Vardhan assumes charge as Environment Minister,
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister for Science and Technology and Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, assumed charge following the sudden demise of former Minister of State (Independent Charge) Shri Anil Madhav Dave.
