1. Centre launches the Measles-Rubella vaccine campaign.
The Union Government has launched the first phase of the all India Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccine immunization campaign in single vaccine for dual protection as part of Universal Immunization programme.
This is the part of Union Government mission to eliminate measles and Rubella syndrome in India by 2020. This is the largest ever in any campaign which targets arount 41 crore children across the country. The First phase has rolled out in four states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Goa and Puduchery.
Measles Rubella(MR) Vaccine will be provided Free of cost, which is currently provided under Universal Immunization programme. The Single MR Vaccine will replace the currently given two doses of Measles vaccine at 9-12 months and 16-24 months of age.
The New Vaccine will give one time to all children aged between 9 months to 15 years .After the campaign. MR Vaccine will be introduced in routine immunization and will replace the currently given two doses of measles vaccine.
About Measles:
It is a deadly disease which is highly contagious and spreads through coughing and sneezing of an infected person. It can make a child vulnerable to life threatening complications such as pneumonia diarrhea and brain infection.
About Rubella.
Rubella is a mild infection, which occurs in pregnant women causing congenital rubella syndrome. CRS affects the foetus and new born affecting the eyes, ears, brain and heart defects.

2. Chief minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) has launched by Aassam government

The Government of Assam has launched the Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana for the development of the villages in the State.

The New Scheme’s objective is to develop all the villages in Assam in the next 5 years. The Scheme was launched by the chief minister Sarbanada Sonowal in Guwahati

About CMSGUY:

The Objective of the scheme is to double farm income by 2021-22 in another 5 years also to build community assets and individual capabilities.

The scheme will cover all the villages of Assam nearly 25,425 villages.

This scheme will be focus on the core strength of each village.

The total investment of the scheme will be Rs 30,000 crore.

Each village will get 1.2 crore of investment.
