1.Indian Army Test-Fires Advanced Block III Version of BrahMos Cruise Missile
The Indian Army has successfully test fired the advanced Block II version of the BrahMos land attack Cruise Missile in Andaman and Nicobar Island.
It was tested in steep-dive mode as part of its capability enhancement endeavour. It was the fourth successful launch of the Block-II version of the BrahMos land attack cruise missile.
2.Odisha’s Sualgiri, Swalgiri Notified as Scheduled Castes
Odhisha’s Sualgiri, Swalgiri Communites have been notified as Scheduled castes following President Pranab Mukherjee’s approval. The Bill already passed in April and it was cleared by Lok Sabha in March.
The members of the community included in Scheduled castes will get certain privileges or concession under the provisions of Article 341 of the Indian constitution.
3.Madhya Pradesh First State to Shift Financial Year to Jan-Dec Format
Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to shifting its financial year format to January to December from the currently following April-March Cycle. The Decision was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pitched to shift the financial year to Jan- Dec in recently concluded NITI Aayog’s Meeting.
4.Second Tallest Flag Pole inaugurated in Kolhapur
300-foot flag Post which is India’s Second Tallest Flag Pole inaugurated in Kolhapur Maharashtra.
The 360-Foot flag post inaugurated on March at Attari on Indo-Pak border said to be the tallest in India.
5.Sanjay Pratihar bags INSA Medal for Young Scientist
Sanjay Pratihar has been chosen for the prestigious Indian National Science Academy(INSA) medal for Young scientist award for the year 2017.
