1. Offshore Patrol Vessel Shanuk has joined the eastern region fleet.

The Offshore patrol vessel has joined the Eastern Region Fleet and will be based in Vishakhapatnam.
Indian coast Guard ship Shanuk has given a ceremonial Welcome at Chennai port which is organised by Coast Guard Easter region. ADGP Coastal Security Group C Sylendra Babu has participated on the ceremony.


2.TN Government to replace 10% of existing agricultural pump with energy efficient pumps

Tamil Nadu Government planning to replace the 10 per cent of existing agricultural pump with energy efficient pumps under UDAY scheme.

Tamil Nadu has recently joined the Central Government sponsoring UDAY (Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana) scheme has committed to replace at least 10 Per cent of existing agricultural pump set with energy efficient pumps by March 2019.



3. International Buddhist conference conclude at Rajgir, Bihar

The Three day International Buddhist conference began on 16 march 2017 at Rajgir International Convention Centre (RICC) in Rajgir, Bihar has concluded.. 

It was inaugurated by tTibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Indian President Pranab Mukherjee attended the concluding ceremony.


4.123 Tejas jets to join IAF by 2024-25.

Indian Air force likely to get 123 indigenously made Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas fighter jets in its fleet by 2024-25.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is in the process of setting up a new assembly line and  also involving the private sector to achieve the project.

5. Reviving Assam’s herbal ink ‘Mahi’.

Researchers have unravel the technique behind the ancient herbal ink “Mahi” which was used in Assam. Researchers said that they are planning to recreate the lost techniques.


Mahi ink has a protective effect on manuscript because of its fungal resistant. The technique behind extracting Mahi ink involves, Cow urine, fruit pulp , tree bark, blood of eels or catfish, rust from iron tools or nails.
