Indian Navy has successfully test fired Surface to air Barak
Missile from its aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya.

The firing was
conducted as part of “Operational Readiness Inspection” of the western fleet,
by Flag officer Commanding-in-chief of western Naval Command Admiral Girish
Luthra.
2.French mathematician
Yves Meyer wins Abel Prize 2017
French mathematician Yves Meyer has awarded the Abel Prize 2017 for his work on wavelets, a
mathematical theory with applications in data compression, medical imaging and
the detection of gravitational waves.
