1.Union government approves revised pact with Bangladesh to set up Border Haats.

The Union Cabinet has given its nod to the revised MoU( Memorandum of Understanding ) and Mode of Operation between India and Bangladesh for establishing Border Haats.

Border Haats main objective is to promote the welfare of people living in border area of India and Bangladesh by  promoting traditional way of marketing the local produce items through local markets.
  


2.Union Cabinet approves special assistance measure for Andhra Pradesh.

The Union Cabinet has approved the special assistance measure for Andhra Pradesh. The Union Cabinet which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given nod for special allowances in funding of Externally Aided Projects and irrigation component of Polavaram Project.


3.International Atomic Energy Agency satisfied with safety of Kudankulam reactors

Yukiya Amano, Director General, IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) said that IAEA was satisfied with the safety measurement of Kudankulam Reactors.


4.Union Cabinet approves MoU between India, Bangladesh on Aids to Navigation

The Union Cabinet has given its nod for signing of MoU (Memorandum of Understanding between India and Bangladesh on Aids to Navigation (AtoNs).

The Union Cabinet was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The MoU was signed by Directorate General of Lighthouses & lightships , Ministry of shipping, India and the Department of Shipping, Bangladesh.


5.Madhukar Gupta Committee has submitted report on border protection

The Madhukar Gupta Committee  has submitted its report on border protection to the Government to strengthen border protection and address vulnerabilities in fencing along the Indo-Pakistan border.


6. Scientist has found world’s oldest algae fossil in India

Scientist has cound world’s oldest algae fossil in Chitrakoot region in Uttar Pradesh and Madhy Pradesh.
It resembles red algae which embedded in Fossil mats of Cyanobacteria inside a 1.6 billion year old phosphorite  rock.
