1.Union Cabinet given its nod for MoU between India and UN-Women
The Union
Cabinet has given its approval for signing MoU(Memorandum of Understanding )
between India and United Nation Entity of Gender Equality and the Empowerment
of Women. The Union Cabinet was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The MoU between
India and UN-Women seeks to provide technical support to the Ministry of
Panchayati Raj to increase the opportunities for gender equality through
legislation , policies an programmes in Government Institutions
The MoU also works
to promote participation of women in Panchayati Raj Institutions to focus on
building capacities of Elected Women Representatives to empower and enhance
their effectiveness
It works for
time-bound results in the activities identified jointly by the ministry and UN
Women within the framework for cooperation under United Nations Development
Assistance Framework (UNDAF)
.
It is primarily
implemented at the district and sub-district level in 6 states including Madhya
Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
2. Union Cabinet provide its approval to MoU on
energy efficiency between India, UAE
Union Cabinet has given its ex-post facto approval to MoU
(Memorandum of Understanding between India’s National Productivity council under
Ministry of Commerce & Industry and UAE’s Al Etihad Energy Services to
provide various services in the field of energy management. The Cabinet is
chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
About the MoU
Official Statement
says, as per MoU the National Productivity council will provide energy
assessment services, training and certification of energy auditors and demand
side management.
Also, Al
Etihad will provide customer support with UAE government and privately owned
organisations, local support for field auditing professionals, local support
for training and certification of energy auditors and support related to demand
side management of industries to in UAE
Opportunities:
The MoU will provide opportunities in Energy building and develop
institutional mechanism in area of energy efficiency in Dubai and other GCC
(Gulf Cooperation Council) member countries.
It helps NPC’s to get recognition and exposure to build
capacities and competencies in rapidly changing business and it will help to
engage with other international collaboration and enhance its visibility in arena. It also promotes NPC in GCC member
countries and generates business in area of energy.
