The union government has announced that will setup 5 special tourism zones in partnership with states.
These five
special tourism zone anchored on special purpose vehicle will be setup in
partnership with States
Finance minister
Arun Jaitely while presenting union budget for 2017-18 said that The incredible
India second campaign will be launched across the world and also added budget
allocated 1,840.77 crore to the tourism against 1,590 crore allocated last
year.

tourism in the country. It is promoted by Amitabh Kant the then joint secretary
of Tourism ministry in 2002.
The Union
government has recognized Tourism is key sector with the potential to generate
employment as well as foreign income (Forex). India accounts less than 1
percentage in world tourism market. Therefore addressing the development of
tourism at structural as well as at consumer level will boost employment and
the as well as economy
