1. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana topped for Ease of Doing Business

As per the latest report  Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has topped the list of 2016 in India for ease of Doing business.

World bank said that four of the seven state which topped in top ten has the lowest income, and all the seven state had implementation rate of over 75 Per cent. While Tamil Nadu slips from previous rank of 12th to 18th rank now.

As per implementation Chhattisgarh has topped with 97.32% followed with Madhy Pradesh 97.01 Per cent.

This report which submit by states and union territories are reviewed by World bank and Central Government's DIPP (Department of Industrial policy and promotion).

2. India-Nepal Joint Military Exercise - Surya Kiran Series Kicks off.

To Boost the defence of both India and Nepal commenced their 10th Joint Military Exercise at Army Battle School, Saljhandi in Nepal. 

This exercise has scheduled from 31st October to 13 Nov 2016 with emphasis on counter terrorism in mountainous terrain. 

About Surya Kiran:

Surya Kiran Series of exercise are conducted annually , alternatively in Nepal and India. 2016 Surya Kiran Exercise is kicked off in Nepal. The foremost aim of this exercise is battalion level Joint training to emphasis on counter terrorism in mountainous terrain and Disaster Management also been included.

This Exercise will enhance defence co-operation and relations between the two nations.  It is a platform for the contingent of both India and Nepal to share their experience and gain mutually. It will be yet another step towards taking traditional friendship between the two nations to greater heights.

3. EPFO has decided to Settle PF Claims for death cases within a week.

EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organisation)  has decided to to reduce the Provident fund (PF) claim after death within a week.

Early the claim time was 20 day, due to various complaints raised against PF delay EPFO has decided to reduce the settle time within seven days.

1. India and Nepal is set for New Civil Aviation Policy "Open Sky".

India is going to host the bilateral talk with Nepal for New Civil Aviation Policy to allow unlimited flight services with neighboring country Nepal.

About New Civil Aviation Policy "Open Sky" Air Service Agreement (ASA)

Central Government has decided to allow unlimited flight services with SAARC countries and countries beyond 5000 km radius from Delhi through New National Civil Aviation Policy, Open Sky Air Service agreement (ASA).

Already Greece has agreed for open skies and going to operate unlimited flight services to India's Six metropolitan Airports.

2. India-Sri Lanka Fishermen Talks.

The most expected Fishermen talk between India and Sri Lanka has held in New Delhi.

Indian Side Issue:

Indian Fisherman caught often for engaging illegal fishing in Sri Lankan waters. Srilankan Navy has arrested 235 fishermen till mid Ocober on charges of engaging in illegal Fishing in Sri Lankan Waters.

Sri Lankan Side Issue.

Sri Lankan Fishermen said that Indian Fishermen should stop engaging in bottom-trawling which will harm the marine ecosystem and also not to fish in Sri Lankan Waters.

3. In Chennai ,Movlivakkam Building to be demolished using "Implosion Technique".

Illegally constructed 11 Storey Building in chennai is demolished using "Implosion Technique" which is used first time in Chennai. It will destroy the 11 storey building in 10 Seconds

What is Implosion Technique ?

Implosion is a process which objects are destroyed by collapsing on themselves which is crushed by outside force.

1. Central Government has supended Kerala's dam plan in Across Siruvani river

Central Government  has stoped temporarily the construction of  Kerala's plan to build a dam across Siruvani river near Attapadi Valley for irrigation project.

Issues:  Siruvani is River which is a tributary of River Cauver. Kerala Government has planned to construct the dam across River Siruvani near Attapadi Valley to ensure use of the state's allocation of water under the Cauveri Tribunal. for this Tamil Nadu Government has opposed citing that it would disrupth the supply of water to Coimbatore city and also affect inflow of water into River Bhavani.

The issues has been examined in the ministry of Environment, forest and climate change and it is decided to keep the recommendation by the expert appraisal committee temporarily till the reference file in Supreme court against the order of the Cuavery water dispute tribunal are settled or till a positive consent from Tamil Nadu..

2. India and Palestine to be set up Techno park in Ramallah,

India and Palestine has signed an agreement for setting up a Techno park in Ramallah, Paletine.

The Decision to set up India-Palestin Tchno park has taken place during the visit of President Pranab Mukerjee last year October.

India is going to grant $12 million for the Techno park. The payment will be paid $3 Million on half yearly basis for 2 years

Once completed,the park will be a one stop solution for all IT related issues for business firms and investors alike.

This project will boost the co-operation between two countries and will help job creation, business and other opportunities for Palestinians.

3. IISER Researcher developed a compound (Gelator) to scoope out Marine Oil Spill.

Recovering Marine oil-spill will soon become simple and cost effective . Thanks to Dr. Kana Sureshan and Amol Vibhute from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) have developed Gelator to scoope out Marine Oil Spills.

How Gelator Works.?

Gelator molecular contains partly Hydrophobic and Partly Hydrophilic. Hydrophilic helps in self assembling to form gelator fibers and hydrophobic responsible for its diffusion into the oil layer.

Researcher as increased the Hydrophobicity, to achieve better diffusion of molecule into the oil phase and enhance the oil recovery. It was done by adding Aromatic/alkyl group.

The outer part of fibre is hydrophobic , oils gets into the spongy network made of fibres then automatically oil loses fluidity and becomes a gel. As the self-assembly is strong, the gel maintains its structure and rigidity under pressure.

It is powder form so it can be easily applies and does not harm environment. It can be reused several times but in case of crude oil, it cannot be recycled.

1. Finally Central and state Governments reached an agreement on  GST Tax structure.

The GST council has announced the 4 tier tax structure at 5%, 12%,18% and 28%

About Tax Structure:

5% tax is for mass consumption products which used by the common man comes under this structure

12% structure  is one of the 2 standard rate in GST, the items which not in essential and luxury list will fall under these 2 categories

28% structure will be for luxury products like car, sin products like tobacco, pan masala etc

0% tax for daily necessities like Food grain, Cooking oil and others.

Council also said that there will be Cess on top 28% tax structure.If there is any loss in revenue for States in 5 years after implementing GST,it will compensated with the help of GST Cess and the Clean Energy Cess.

What is GST?

GST is an indirect tax levy on manufacture, sale and consumption of goods and services at the national level, it will replace all the indirect tax levy by central and state government on goods and service.

2. India and Bangladesh Joint Exercise  "Sampriti-2016"

India and Bangladesh Joint military Exercise "Sampriti-2016" to be conducted at Tangil, Dhaka, Bangladesh from Nov 5 to Nov 18, 2016. 

This is the 7th exercise conducted by both countries under the scenario working together in a counter insurgency and counter Terrorism under the UN Charter. The first exercise in this series held in 2010 at Johrat in Assam.

3. India  and Kazakhstan is going to sign FTA by year end

India and Kazakhstan to sign the Free trade Agreement by end of this year.

This will help to boost the bilateral relationship with Eurasian region, since Kazakhstan is path of Eurasian. Eurasia which consists of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Krygizstan.

Meanwhile Kazakhstan is planning to set up its second consulate in Chennai after Mumbai

What is Free trade Agreement.

FTA which involves cooperation between at least 2 countries to reduce it trade barrier, like import quotas and tarrifs . It will help to increase trade of Goods and services between 2 countries.

4. Finally National food Security Act implement across the country.

Central Government finally implemented the National Food Security Act across the whole country after Tamil Nadu and Kerala rolled out it from November.

What is National Food Security Act (NFSA)?

National food Security Act is also called Right to Food Act, which aims to provide subsidized Food grains to 1.2 billion people.

Highlights of Food Security Act 
This act ensure that the two- third of nation population will get 5kg of Food Grain Everymonth

The poor households would continue to recieve monthly entitlement of 35 Kgs under the "Antyodaya Anna Yojana" at a subsidized price of Rs. 1 per Kg for millets, Rs. 2 per Kg for wheat and Rs. 3 per Kg for rice

It is world's largest social welfare scheme with the government spending estimated at Rs 125,000 crore annually on supply of about 62 million tonnes of rice, wheat and coarse cereals to 67 per cent of the population.
Pregnant women and lactating mothers would receive a maternity benefit of at least 6,000 rupees.
Children aged six months to 14 years would get take-home ration or hot cooked food.
It will give more authority to women in running their households, the oldest adult woman in each house would be considered the head of that household when issuing the ration card.
The work of identification of eligible households is left to the states/UTs, which may frame their own criteria or use social,economic and caste census data.
The central government will provide money to states and union territories if it runs low on grain . It also provided assistance in cost of inter-state transportation.

1.World Bank declares Andhra Pradesh Tops in Energy Efficiency in India.

The World bank has ranked A.P as number one in Energy Efficiency Implementation Readiness in India.

Andhra Pradesh has scored 42.01 followed by Rajasthan(41.89), Maharashtra(32.29), and kerala(34.48). Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh are the other states in the top ten ranking.

It was figured in world Banks report titled " India's State Level Energy Efficiency Implementation Readiness".

2.Turkey Interest in FTA with India.

wants India to talk about Free Trade Agreement with Turkey. 

Already there is Joint Study Group report on the Feasibility and possibility of concluding a CEPA (comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) or otherwise called Free Trade Agreement between two countries but there is no confirmation on date of Free Trade Agreement Negotiation.

Tukey's Development Minister Lutfi Elvan said that Turkey is interested in talks with India For FTA and Turkey is Safe Heaven for Foreign Investors.

What is Free trade Agreement(FTA)?.

FTA which involves cooperation between at least 2 countries to reduce it trade barrier, like import quotas and tarrifs . It will help to increase trade of Goods and services between 2 countries.

3. Bhitarkanika Park, Odisha- nominated Heritage site of UNESCO.

A Five Member Assessment team from IUCN(International Union for Conservation of Nature) going to visit the Bhitarkanika Park in Odisha. 

This is the first time the team visiting after nominated as one of the nine natural eco spot to be included in world Heritage Site.

The team will inspect the Eco-site in all the aspects included issues of protection, conservation, people's participation, tourism, bio-diversity etc. The team will examine and submit its recommendation to the world union about its inclusion.

About Bhitarkanika National Park

Bhitarkanika Park is located in Kendarapara District in Odisha. It was created in 1988 and it is a second largest mangrove ecosystem in India.

This Park is home for Saltwater Crocodile, White crocodile , black ibis , darters and many species.

This national park presently figures in protected wetlands under the Ramsar convention. 

4. India Opens seats to Nepal Students in IIT's .

President Pranab Mukerjee announced that from next year India opens seats to Nepalese student to compete for IIT's Seat.

President said that Academic and student exchange programmes had been part of long tradition in bilateral ties between India and Nepal. India will continue to help Nepal with developing its human resource.

1.India  and UNISDR sign statement of Cooperation on Sendai Framework.

India has signed a Statement of Cooperation with United Nations Office for Disaster Risk reduction during the 2nd day of AMSDRR 2016 (Asian Ministerial conference on Disaster Risk Reduction) for effective implementation and monitor of Sendai Framework on DRR(Disaster Risk Reduction)

Importance of Current Statement :

This Statement focused mainly on the guiding principles, objectives and area of cooperation between India and UNISDR toward the implementation and monitoring of Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Sendai Framework  which is adopted at 3rd world conference on Disaster Risk reduction at Sendai in Japan march 2015

This Statement will help India to work with UNISDR towards strengthening the capacity of Asian Countries in ensuring Risk Resilient Development.

This Cooperation helps promoting international  and regional cooperation to reinforce political commitment etc.

What is Sendai Framework?

Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction is the first major international treaty post 2015 on disaster risk reduction. It has been  approved by United Nation member states on 18-March-2015 at the world conference on Disaster Risk Reduction held in Sendai, Japan.

The four priorities of Sendai Framework are a, understanding disaster risk, strengthening disaster risk governance to manage disaster risk, investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience, enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response and to build back better in recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction.

It is also sets seven global targets. Sendai Framework is the successor agreement of Hyogo Framework for action 2005-2015.

2. India and Srilanka to set up  Joint Working Group on Fishermen issue.

India and Srilanka decided to set up Joint working Group to solve the long pending Fishermen Issue. They  have decided to meet every three months and hold a meeting between the ministers of fisheries every six month.

They also going to establish Hotline between two coast Gaurds.

The JWG meeting will include representatives from ministers of Foreign affairs, Coast Guards and Navies of both Countries.

3.RBI finally approvees its first S4A scheme for HCC for structuring of stressed Assets.

The Overseeing Committee of the Reserve Bank of India finally given its approval for the scheme of sustainable structuring of Stressed assets for Hindustan Construction Company.

HCC is the first company to get an approval by Overseeing committee of RBI.

What is S4A?

S4A means scheme for sustainable structuring of stressed asset. It will help to successfully tackle the bad loans of large companies by dividing into 2 half one is sustainable and another is unsustainable. 

In simple Sustainable loans has to bare by Company and unsustainable loan can be converted into equity and sold to a new owner who have manageable debts and can run the business.

4. Indian Women's Hockey team won Asia cup 2016.

Indian Women's Hockey team won its maiden Women’s Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament in Singapore on Saturday beating China by 2-1.

1.India Going to Highlight climate impact on Himalayas at CoP 22.

is planning to host a side event during United Nations climate Change conference at Marakech, Morocco about the climate change impact on Himalayas.


Himalayas provides water to 1.3 billion People and it has not been  represented for last three decades in climate change discussions, even though it is warming faster than the global average.

It is  yearly conference about the United Nations Framework convention on Climate Change which is held in Marakesh, Morocco.

2. Mission Raftaar Project

government  launched the high speed Gatimaan Express between Delhi and Agra which will reach the top speed of 160 Km.

About Raftaar Project:

Indian Railways has planned to increase the train speed to 160 kmph on total 9000 km in trunk routes in the country. This will help to reduce the Journey time of the passenger.

3. Indian Army completes irrigation pipeline project in Demchok, Ladakh.

Indian Army has completed laying the irrigation pipeline in Demchok of eastern Ladakh. The irrigation project which was opposed by china which is underway in the Demchok Region.

Demchok region is located 250 km east of Ladakh, the project links a village with "Hot Spring" which is undertaken by Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Acts .

4. Andy Murray won Paris Masters Title.

Andy Murray

1. 7th Conference of the Parties (COP7) Began's in India.

The 7th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP7) to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC), is began's in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

This is the World's first public health treaty for international cooperation in healthcare in combating the tobacco epidemic.

This is the first time in India the Conference of the Parties (COP) being held. It will bring together the WHO FCTC's 180 members almost all the countries in the world to battle against the devastating consequences of tobacco use.

What isWHO FCTC?

WHO FCTC (World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control) is a treaty adopted on 21 may 2003 and came into force from 27th February 2005. 

It is signed by 168 countries and ratified by 180 countries  (to protect present and future generations from the devastating health, social, environmental and economic consequences of tobacco consumption and exposure to tobacco smoke by enacting a set of universal standards stating the dangers of tobacco and limiting its use in all forms worldwide (source wiki))

What is COP?

The COP (Conference of the Parties) is  governing body and is comprised of all 180 Members. It will regularly monitor and review the implementation of the Convention and  action to promote its effectiveness. 

2. United Kingdom's Prime minister Theresa May , India's 3-day Visit

Prime Minister Theresa May is on 3-day visit in  India, this was her first bilateral visit outside Europe and will aim to enhance the trade ties between two Nations on trade, investment, defense and security.

Highlights of Visit
·                     India seeks return of 57 fugitives from United Kingdom including Vijay Mallya.
·                     India and UK agreed on enhancing counter-terror measures.
·                     India and UK signed 2 Memorandum of understanding on ease of doing business and Intellectual Property realated issues.
·                     Theresa May also said there will be swift entry for business people.

3. NSG meet in Vienna, China Stuck with its stand on India.

China has said that it will not change its decision on India's membership bid on NSG. China said that it will consider India's Entry only after if the rules for entry of Non -NPT countries are finalised by the elite Group.

About NPT
Non Proliferation Treaty or NPT is also known as the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. It is an international treaty to curb the spread of nuclear weapons, technology and help to use nuclear energy peacefully.

NPT came into force in march 1970. Initally 191 countries adhered to this, later in 2003 North Korea came out from NPT. NPT countries are classified into 2 categories 1. Nuclear weapon state and Non Nuclear Weapon state. NWS consists of US, Russia, china, France, and UK (all are permanent members of UN security council) and rest or NNWS. Also NWS has agreed no to help NNWS state to develop acquire nuclear weapons.

India , Pakistan, Israel, South Sudan remain outside the treaty hence they possess nuclear weapons. If they want to join in Non Proliferation Treaty they should dismantle all their nuclear weapons. Only South Africa joined in NPT on 1991 after dismantling all its Nuclear Weapons.

About NSG

Nuclear suppliers group is the group of nuclear suppling countries to ensure nuclear treade for peaceful purpose and prevent nuclear proliferation by controling export of nuclear materials and technology.

This treaty was signed response to India's nuclear test in 1974 at Pokhran.

If india becomes member of NSG , then it will help India to bulild more nuclear reactors for providing energy without any difficulties. It also helps India to get better international market for export and import of nuclear related material.

1, Central Government decided to Extend AFSPA in 3 districts of A.P.
Central Government has decided to extend the Armed forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in 3 districts of Arunachal Pradesh to control the Naga Factions.
The motive to impose the AFSPA in 3 district is to curb the cadres of NSCN-IM (National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muviah)) because of extortion and intimidation by them.
Center has extended AFSPA in Tirp, Changlang and Longding Districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

What is AFSPA?
Armed Force Special Power Act is an act of parliament of India which will give special powers to Indian Army to act in disturbed Area. It was enacted in 1958.

2. India's first Eco-Friendly LNG bus Launched in Kerala.
Kerala Government has launched India's First Eco-friendly Liquefied Natural Gas driven bus in Trivandrum, Kerala. It was launched by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Natural Gas Minister and Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala's Chief Minister.

3. Supreme Court Framed issues on Neyyar River Dispute
Supreme court has set to hear the Neyyar river water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Kerala has stopped sharing water with Tamil Nadu in 2004  to full fill its domestic supply of water in Kerala.
Supreme court will hear whether the water sharing to Tamil Nadu by Kerala Government is only a gesture of Good will or legal obligation.

1. Center has approved the MOU with Japan for Marine -Earth Science and Technology

Government of India has approved a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japanese agency Marine-Earth Science and Technology and the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

The Objective of the MOU is advancement of academic research in the field of Earth sciences for the benefit of peace and human welfare.

The MOU with JAMSTE will help to enhance capability in field of atmospheric and climate research, ocean technology observation and hazard mitigation , it also helps Indian scientists with needed exposure.

2. First International Agro biodiversity congress held in New Delhi, India.

The first International Agro biodiversity congress held in New Delhi from 6 Nov to 9th November which is organized by the Indian Society of Plant Genetic Resources and Biodiversity International, a CGIAR(formerly the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research )

The first congress has been attended by 900 delegates from 60 countries.


The delegates discussed various aspects of access, conservation and use of Agro biodiversity. Based on the discussion delegates adopted the preamble .

Indian Council of Agricultural Research said that India is the perfect place for the first International Agro biodiversity Congress as it is one of the most diverse countries in the world.

India is only 2.4 % of world's land and yet it harbors 7-8 % of all recorded species.

Uses of Agro biodiversity:

·                     It will help to increase productiviy, food security, and reduce the pressure of agriculture on fragile areas, forests
·                     It will help to make farming system more stable.
·                     It will help in pest and disease management .
·                     It will help in soil conservation , increase soil fertility

3. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Launch Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana.

The Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship launched the Pradhan mantri Yuva Yojana, it is an scheme on entrepreneurship education and training to the youths.

The Scheme spans over 5 years from 2016-17 to 2020-21 with a project cost of Rs.499.94 crore and wil provide entrepreneurship education and training to over 7 lakh students in 5 years through 3050 Institutes. 

It will also include easy access to information an mentor network, credit, incubator and accelerator and advocacy to create a pathway for the youth (as per Official Statement)

1.Guy Ryder Re-elected as ILO Director General.
Guy Rider has been re-elected as Director General of International Labour Organization. He took office on 1st October 2012.He is the 10th Director General.
About ILO:
International Labour Organisation has formed on 1919 , it is United Nations Agency located in Geneva, Switzerland. 
International Labour Organisation which deals with labour issues, international labour standards, social protection, and work opportunities to all, it has 186 countries as members including the cook Islands.

2.The Kaveri delta Coal-bed methane extraction project has been cancelled by center.
Central Government has cancelled the Kaveri delta Coal-bed methane extraction project due to the protest from farmers.
About the Project:
In 2010 GEECL has won the licence to explore and extract methane and Coal Deposit in Mannarkudi in Thiruvarur district. The then Tamil Nadu Government has given area in Nagapattinam, Thanjavur and Thiruvarur district in Tamil Nadu. But due to oppose from farmers, Environmentalist the project has been canceled. 

3. China has launched pulsar navigation test Satellite
China has launched the satellite to detect signs of pulsars. The satelite will conduct experiments on X-ray pulsar navigatons, which are very high density stars formed by neutrons.
It has been launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, the satellite was carried by long March-11 rocket. It was 239th flight mission by Long March.

1.India and Japan sign agreement on civil nuclear power .
Japan has signed an agreement to sell civil nuclear power equipment and Technology with India. The pact was signed by Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime minister Shinzo Abe.
this is the controversial deal which has signed by Japan because this is the first time it agreed to sell civil nuclear power equipment and technology to a country which is not a member of the nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty.
India also signed similar nuclear agreements with France, Russia, Britain and the United States.
As per the agreement the pact is only for peaceful commercial use, japan will terminate if India conducts a nuclear test.
It allows India to reprocess fuel and enrich uranium , then highly enriched uranium used to make nuclear weapons are not permitted.

About NPT
Non Proliferation Treaty or NPT is also known as the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. It is an international treaty to curb the spread of nuclear weapons, technology and help to use nuclear energy peacefully.

NPT came into force in march 1970. Initally 191 countries adhered to this, later in 2003 North Korea came out from NPT. NPT countries are classified into 2 categories 1. Nuclear weapon state and Non Nuclear Weapon state. NWS consists of US, Russia, china, France, and UK (all are permanent members of UN security council) and rest or NNWS. India , Pakistan, Israel, South Sudan remain outside the treaty hence they possess nuclear weapons. If they want to join in Non Proliferation Treaty they should dismantle all their nuclear weapons. Only South Africa joined in NPT on 1991 after dismantling all its Nuclear Weapons.

2. First time, India agreed to consider Patrolling Palk Strait Jointly with Srilanka.
India has agreed to consider Srilanka's proposal for jointly patrolling the Palk Strait by naval arms. This is first time in the history of India - Srilankan negotiation on the fishing issues which troubling the two countries.
The Terms of Reference for the Joint Working Group on Fisheries (JWGF) includes "ascertaining possibilities for cooperation on joint patrolling" by navies of both India and Srilanka.

3.World pneumonia day November 12
The world pneumonia day is to raise awareness to promote prevention and treatment, and generate action to fight the deadly disease.
This is the second largest killer of children after diarrohoeal disease. As per report for every 15 seconds children under 15 dies of pneumonia.

The Environment 
clearance for Rs 9,000 Ken-Betwa  river interlinking project may delay till January 2017 to get clearance from ministry of Environment.

About Ken-Betwa Project:

The main objective of Ken-Betwa river interlinking project will help to irrigate Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

The project will have 230 km canal , barrages and dams which will connect the Ken and Betwa  to irrigate 3.5 lakh hectares of land in M.P and 14000 hectares of land in Uttar Pradesh.

The project would result in submerge of 5,803 hectare of Panna Tiger Reserve. It also displace 6,388 people and will submerge 10 villages but 17 lakhs people will get benefit with improved drinking water and irrigation.

About River Ken:

the Ken River which ORiginates on the north-west Slopes of Kaimur Range in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh. It runs for 247 km and merge with River Yamuna in UttarPradesh.

About River Betwa:

River Betwa Originates from Vindhya Range in Madhya Pradesh and run North-Ease through Madhya Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh and merge with River Yamuna.

2. Narendra Batra becomes first Indian to head International Hockey federation(FIH)

About Surya Kiran:

The foremost aim of this exercise is battalion level Joint training to emphasis on counter terrorism in mountainous terrain and Disaster Management also been included.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin Arrives in India on Monday for a six day visit to strengthen the bilateral ties between India and Israel.

Reuven Rivlin will also inaugurate Agro Tech 2016 with President Pranab Mukherji in chandigarh as part of his Visit.

2. 2016 the hottest Year on record, United Nation Says.
The World Meteorological Organization report  which published report at the Global Climate Summit in Morocco found that the Global Temperature in 2016 will be the hottest year on record. 
The global Temperature is running 1.2 C above the Pre-Industrial Level, which will coming  close to breach 1.5 C warming level , which is a target to stay safe from the impact of climate change.
As per Paris Agreement the target was 2 degree Celsius but 1.5 degree Celsius set as an ambitious target especially to protect small islands countries like Haiti, Maldives. which are threatened to submerge due to warming.

1.Center has increased Minimum supporting price (MSP) for RABI crops which is sown in Winter.
Prime minister Narendra modi who chairs the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA) gave approval for increase the minimum support prieces for all Rabi Crops of 2016-17
About the increase:
There is a hike of Rs 100 per Quintal for Wheat so the current value will be Rs 1625 Per Quintal for Wheat in 2016-17 against 1,525 per Quintal last year
The Minimum Supporting Price  for Gram has increase from 3500 per Quintal to 400 per Quintal in 2016-17 and Masur has been increased to Rs 3950 per Quintal from 3400 per Quintal.
The others like barley there is 8.2 percent hike, rapesee, mustard 10.4 percent hike and safflower 12.1 percent hike from official spokesperson.
The increase in Minimum Supporting Price will encourage farmers to sow crops in Rabi season( winter season).
What is Minimum Supporting Price (MSP) ?
MSP (Minimum Supporting Price) is the price which Government purchase crops from farmers , whatever may be the price of crops
The government will fix the MSP in the beginning of the sowing the crops as per the recommendation of Commission of Agricultural cost and Price(CACP)
MSP(Minimum Supporting Price) will help the producer against fall of price during huge production, if the price is below MSP then the Government agencies will purchase the products for MSP. If the price is more than the MSP then the producer can sell it in Market price.

2. India And Israel signed in two important agreements 
India and Israel agreed to work together in areas in Agriculture and Water resource management. 
The visiting Israel President Reuven Rivlin and Prime minister Narendra Modi Said that both side will work to counter terrorism, radicalism and extremism.
Israel President Reuven Rivlin is the Second president to visit India in last 2 decades.

1.Vladimir Putin Withdraws Russia from International Criminal Court.

Russia pulls out from International Criminal court following United Nations committee condemning Russia's occupation of Crimea in Ukraine and abuses some people of the region.

Russia has annexed Crimea from Ukraine on 2014 after the region was occupied by Pro Russian separatists, this led sanction against Russia by West.

Russia is also under International pressure over Air strikes over Aleppo with Syrian government.

Russian Ministry said that the court has failed to match the hopes one had and did not become a truly independent and respected body of international justice," and also in the ICC's 14 years of work ICC has pronounced only four verdicts and spent over $1bn of expenses.

Russia's announcement may welcomed by Gambia and south Africa which recently announced their withdrawal.

International Criminal court is a intergovernmental organization and international tribunal which has headquarters in Hague, Netherlands.

It is first permanent criminal court was founded in July 1998 and came into force from 2002. it will conduct legal proceedings against the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity an war crimes

2. India and China begins Joint Traning Exercise in Pune

The 6th India-China Joint Training Exercise 'Hand in Hand 2016' was held at the parade ground in Aundh Military Camp, in Pune.

The Exercise was held in the presence of Maj Gen YK Joshi, Additional Director-General of Military Operations of the Indian Army, and Maj Gen Wang Haijiang of the People’s Liberation Army and other senior army officers.

The 13-day  joint training exercise schedule is focused upon training on crossing of obstacles, special heliborne operations, firing of various weapons, handling & neutralisation of improvised explosive devices and conduct of cordon & search operations in insurgency and terrorism environment as statement said.

1. Indo-Norwegian research project- MADICE (Mass balance, dynamic, and climate of the central Dronning Maud land coast, East Antarctica) begins.

MADICE is an 4 year Indo-Norwegian Project from 2016-2020 to investigate the response of Antarctic ice shelves to the global warming in the less-studied areas of East Antarctica, especially in the Dronning Maud Land.

Dronning Maud Land is characterized by loosely connected ice shelves which is in East of Antarctica. East Antarctica is Poorly understood when compared to West Antarctica. This project which include,geophysical field measurement, ice core drilling, ice-sheet modelling and satellite remote sensing based studies will help to understand the Antarctic climate changes.

This project is the collaboration of India's Ministry of Earth Science and Research Council Norway (NCAOR).

2. United Nation conference on Climate Change- Marrakech, Morocco (COP22)

1. India Successfully Test-Fires Nuclear Capable Agni-I missile

India on Tuesday Successfully Test Fired the Nuclear Capable Agni-I Ballistic Missile at 10.08 am from the Wheeler Island (Abdul Kalam Island), on the Odisha Coast.

Agni-I is an surface to surface missile powered by solid propellants developed by Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and tested in 2002 for First time.It can hit a target of 700 km.

They said that launch was successful and it is a part of training exercise by Strategic Forces Command of Indian Army.

2.India Joins Associate member of CERN.

India became an associate member of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), the world's largest nuclear and particle physics laboratory.

CERN known for its operation of the large Hadron Collider, which found the Higgs bason in 2012. The Agreement was signed on Monday by Chairman of Atomic Energy commission and Secretary of Department of Atomic Energy Sekhar Basu and CERN Director General Dr Fabiola Giantti at the Department of Atomic Energy office, Mumbai.

India was an observer since 2004 in CERN and latest upgrade will help Indian Scientist to participate in Various Project. It also allow Indian Companies to bid for lucrative engineering contracts.

India also has to provide 11.5million swiss Frank for research activities annually.

1.Central Government plans Crop insurance for small Tea Growers.
Central Government has planning to roll out crop Insurance for small Tea Growers. First they are going to introduce in 3 regions in Assam, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal as a pilot.
The Tea board will be the nodal Agency and the cost of the Insurance will be shared between Centre, State and Growers in the basis of 75:15:10. This Insurance Scheme will benefit the small Tea Grower from loses due to price dip in International and domestic market. It also covers loss due to pest attack, adverse weather or any other reason beyond human control.
The Initial period the scheme will cover about 44,223.6 hectares of plantation area. The 3 regions the  pilot scheme roll out in  Golghat (Assam), Coonoor (Tamil Nadu) and Jalpaiguri (West Bengal), For the cycle of March to November for 2 consecutive year.

2.5th International Tourism Mart Inaugurated in Manipur.
The Fifth International Tourism Mart (ITM) was inaugurated in Imphal ,Manipur. ITM was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Manipur Shri Okram Ibobi Singh in presence of Union Tourism Secretary Shri Vinod Zutshi.
The International Tourism Mart is organised by union Ministry of Tourism in association with North Eastern Sates and West Bengal. It will be held between 23-25 November 2016.
After Inaugurating International Tourism Mart Chief Minister Shri Okram Ibobi Singh said that it will provide a good platform to promote tourism in Manipur besides the other neighboring states in the North-Eastern region.

Indian Railways going to introduce the advanced system called Tri-netra to its train to reduce Train Accidents by keeping a record of the track maintenance and also will provide better visibility during Foggy days.

About Tri-Netra:

The Tri netra system is made up of a radar-based terrain mapping, High resolution optical video camera and high sensitivity infrared video camera.

The device will use infra red to tab signals upto 2-3km and display the information on the screen fitted in locomotive

The divice will not distract the driver in normal condition by alarm but it will alarm the danger in red color which gives driver ample time to stop the train

3.Indian Navy’s seventh Landing craft utility (LCU) L-57 launched.

The Seventh Ship of Landing Craft Utility (LCU) L-57 is launched at an impressive ceremony at Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers ltd, Kolkata.
The Chief guest for the ceremony minister of State for defence Subhas Ramrao Bhamresaid that the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers is one of the most Technologically advanced shipyard in the Country.

1. National Milk Day November 26

26th November is celebrated as National Milk day in India. National Milk day is celebrated to pay tribute to Verghese Kurien the Co-founder of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which markets Amul Milk and Dairy Products.

Globally June 1 is celebrated as World Milk Day which is designated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization to raise awareness about the importance of milk and milk products.

In Inida we celebrate it on November 26  which is Verghese Kurien' Birthday. It is like paying tribute to him for making India into world's largest milk producer surpassing United States.

2. Constitution Day November 26 (Samvidhan Day)

1.India Hosts the Golden Jubilee Celebration of UNCITRAL, New Delhi.

India Hosted the Golden Jubilee Celebration of UNCITRAL ( United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) conference about  'Global Standards for Rule-based commerce' in New Delhi.

It is hosted by the UNCITRAL regional centre for Asia and the Pacific with the UNCITRAL national coordination commitee in India, with Permanent court of Arbitration Support.

The conference discussed about UNCITRAL's role and work in the harmoiztion and modernization of international trade law, as well as pertinent international trade law issues including electronic commerce, cross border insolvency and investment treaty dispute.


The UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International trade Law) was established in 1966 by UN General Assembly to promote the progressive unification and Harmonization of International Trade Law.

India is a founding member and has been re-elected in 2015 for 5 years.

2. RBI Introduced Incremental Cash Reserve Ratio 

Reserve Bank of India introduced Incremental Cash Reserve Ratio of 100 % to tackle the surge in deposits after the withdrawal of  500 and 1000 Rs Notes.

Reserve Bank said that this is an attempt to absorb the surplus liquidity available in banking system. It will suck around Rs 3.4l crore excess liquidity from the system. It also said that it was a temporary measure to drain excess liquidity in the system and will be reviewed on December 9 or before.

What is Cash Reserve Ratio?

This is the Tool used by RBI to control Liquidity in Banking System. 

Cash Reserve Ratio is a specified minimum fraction of the total deposits of customer, which Indian banks have to hold as reserves, but Indian Banks will not hold reserve themselves instead they deposit as cash with Reserve Bank of India. The Minimum Ratio stipulated by RBI is known as Cash Reserve Ratio.

For Example if CRR is 10 % and the deposit is Rs1000 by commercial bank into RBI, then Commercial bank can use only 900 out of 1000. Remaining 10% should kept with RBI to meet the payment demands of their depositors, to control money supply etc.

1. Lok Sabha has passed new Income Tax amendment Bill-2016
Lokh sabha has passed the new income tax amendment bill by a voice vote to levy 60% tax on undisclosed income or investment or cash credit deposited after November 8 demonetization.
After the Passing the bill Finance minister Arun Jaitely said that it gives an opportunity to all the black money holders to come out clean by declaring their undisclosed income and pay the penalty.
The penalty for unaccounted cash will include a flat income tax @ 60 % and a surcharge @25% amounting total 75%.

2. Akodra India first Digital Village.
Akodra the tiny village located in Gujarat's Sabarkantha District become India's First 'Digital Village'.
The villgae has a population of 1200 and was adopted by ICICI bank as a part of Digital India.

Central Government's Water is planning to amend the Groundwater Management Bill. It will impose restriction on how the Groundwater can be used.

Bill will impose restriction to industries that it can use only recycled water  and activities like Gardening should use treated sewage water.

Bill will also regulate on extracting aquifiers for Pristine water.

2.Great Barrier Reef suffers worst ever coral Bleaching

Australian scientist has confirmed that mass bleaching event on the Great Barrier Reef which killed more corals

Australia's Great Barrier Reef is one of the natural wonder has suffered its most devastating die-off on record.

Causes of Bleaching:

In Northern Hemisphere , the summer temperature raised to 2 degrees above the normal because of natural El-Nino and man-made heating which  heated the water and caused severe bleaching.

Advantage of Coral Reefs:

Coral Reefs play a major role in Marine Ecosystem. It provides food ,habitat for fish and also serve as an important barrier protecting any natural calamities.

It also provides local economies through tourism and fishing.
