IAF gets ‘Netra’, an indigenous Airborne Early Warning and Control System
Indian Air
force has formally inducted an indigenous Airborne Early Warning and Control
System ‘Netra’ Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation
at the on-going ‘Aero India 2017’
India has
now entered in Elite club of joining along with US, Israel an Russia which has
already developed the technology.
This
systems is capable of long range surveillance,can track area within 240 degrees
of its sides at any given point of time. The system was fitted on three smaller
Brazilian Embarer-145 jet by
DRDO.
